Located in Deroche, British Columbia, Matt’s Motorschool Inc. delivers intermediate and advanced motorcycle training designed to elevate rider knowledge, skill, and control.
Our signature Ride to Train model blends real-world road riding with focused parking lot skill development, creating a seamless progression from application to mastery, and back again.
We train in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where riders of all abilities can grow with confidence. Our programs are built on proven Law Enforcement motorcycle training principles, giving riders the opportunity to train how professionals train and learn what professionals know.
Our instructor cadre brings extensive real-world experience and a high level of technical expertise to every session. Through this, our mission is clear: to develop stronger, more capable riders and contribute to reducing motorcycle-related collisions and injuries on British Columbia’s roadways.
All courses will proceed RAIN or SHINE. Any exceptions will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

OUR OWNER
Matt’s Motorschool Inc. is owned and operated by a retired 21-year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Throughout his career, Matt served primarily with Traffic Services, specializing as a Police Motor Officer. His experience includes daily operational duties, police training, VIP escort team riding, and competing in international police motorcycle skills competitions. Additionally, he has played a key role as an annual organizer of the Tri-Cities Motorcycle Skills Challenge, an event that allows the public to learn advanced riding techniques from law enforcement professionals. Matt is passionate about rider education and believes that every motorcyclist can enhance their skills through proper training and hands-on experience.

Our instructor cadre brings with them multiple years of combined knowledge and practical experience. All instructors with Matt’s Motorschool Inc. are licenced under the Motor Vehicle and the Province of British Columbia

WHAT TO EXPECT
- All courses are 1 or 3 days in duration
- Classes will be taught of in a respectful, inclusive environment with a small student to instructor ratio
- Each day will be 8 hours long (9 a.m to 5 p.m)
- Each day broken up into 5.5 hours of practical training an 2 hours theroy
- There will be breaks as needed including 30 minutes for lunch
- Students will be responsible for bringing a water bottle (additional water provided), snacks and a lunch
WHAT'S MY SKILL LEVEL
The 6 Fundamentals
- Head/Eye lead
- Clutch & Throttle control (the friction zone)
- Turning
- Riding in a straight line
- Shifting gears
- Using both brakes to slow or stop
Novice
- Familiar with the 6 fundamentals
- Saddle time
- Has some slow speed riding capabilities
- May have completed a basic motorcycle riding course
- Is not a beginner but is fairly new to riding
Intermediate
- Competent with the 6 fundamentals
- Saddle time
- Is able to ride at slow speeds
- Can perform some slow speed maneuvers
- May have complete an intermediate motorcycle riding course
- May have participated in a skills challenge
Advanced/Expert
- Proficient with the 6 fundamentals
- Saddle time
- Is able to confidently ride at slow speed
- Can perform slow speed maneuvers but has not ridden in a closed course environment
- Is confident in most riding situations
- May have completed an advanced motorcycle riding course

This 3-day course introduces riders to the process of mastering speed control, with a focus on
proper riding form, braking, and evasive techniques. Riders will develop the ability to take full
ownership of every moment on the street, staying prepared for the constantly changing variables
of real-world riding.

sharpen situational awareness and build responsive muscle memory in controlled street-like
conditions. All exercises are conducted at speeds ranging from 0 to 40 kph.

CLASS 6 ROAD TEST PREP - $80 per hour (2 hr min)
This 3-day course elevates the challenge of Slow-Speed riding and introduces more intense,
real-world Street-Speed techniques. Riders will experience amplified transitions in both turning
and speed to rapidly build muscle memory under pressure.
Participants will advance beyond the slow-speed fundamentals of Courses 101 and 102,
